The eighth generation Toyota Camry is all set to make its Indian debut. The new Camry is based on the GA-K platform spun off from Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA). The eighth-gen model is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, and the wheelbase is up by 50mm, which will make for a roomier interior. On the outside, the car looks the most aggressive it has ever looked. Toyota's new ‘Keen Look’ design language calls for a V-shaped outline with the logo, a grille that connects the headlamps and a large air dam. Strong creases along the sides and a raised boot lip.
On the inside, the sedan features a sleek design, with an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system that’s neatly incorporated into the centre console and a clean smooth curve along and round the console that encloses the driver. Apart from all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern sedan, a nine-speaker JBL audio system, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control is also on offer. On the safety front, the new Camry is equipped with a total of 10 airbags, and a full suite of assist systems, like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control and lane departure alert with steering assist.
